Maryville City Council rescinds mask mandate

MARYVILLE, Mo. - In a surprise vote, the Maryville mask mandate has been lifted. Monday night's meeting began with city councilman Matt Johnson introducing a motion to lift the mask mandate, effective at midnight last night.

It was quickly seconded by city councilwoman Rachel Martin. After each city councilmember shared their opinion, the vote was four-to-one to rescind the mask mandate. Tye Parsons was the lone 'no' vote.

City Manager Greg McDanel told KXCV/KRNW that the mask mandate will no longer be regulated by the city.
